Upscale an Image Online — AI Super-Resolution, Free & Private

Small or low-resolution photos lose detail the moment you enlarge them the ordinary way. Photopik's upscaler uses an AI super-resolution model to increase resolution while reconstructing sharp edges and texture — and it runs entirely on your device, so your photo is never uploaded.

How it works

Drop in a JPG, PNG, or WEBP file and choose a scale factor of 2x or 4x. Photopik loads a compact ESRGAN super-resolution model into your browser the first time you use it, then processes the image in small tiles so even large photos won't exhaust memory. When it finishes, you preview the result and download a PNG.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from Resize?+

Resize simply stretches the existing pixels, so an enlarged image looks soft or blocky. Upscaling uses an AI model to generate new detail, so the larger image keeps sharp edges and texture that plain resizing can't recover.

Is my photo uploaded to a server?+

No. The AI model is downloaded to your browser once, and all processing happens on your device. Your image never leaves your computer.

Why does the first run take longer?+

The first upscale of a session downloads and initializes the AI model, which takes a few seconds. After that, the model stays loaded and subsequent images are noticeably faster.
